Pete Bissell, celebrated as Winemaker of the Year 2018 by the prestigious Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology, has been described as a “quiet achiever who has been a champion of the wine industry" and as a "a keen innovator both in the winery and the vineyard"

Pete made the 1999 Jimmy Watson Award winning wine. The Jimmy Watson Award is Australia's most well known, anticipated and reported wine award.

He shared his thoughts on the ProCork OTR membrane with Anthony Madigan in Wine Business Magazine.

"If you look at the results of the AWRI (Australian Wine Research Institute) Closure Trial it's the top performing closure.... It allows you to have a cork without the problems of cork. Even if you have corks without TCA you'll end up with 12 different wines after 12 months because they all let different amounts of oxygen into the bottle. The membranes on a ProCork regulate the amount of oxygen going into the bottle, so you get more consistency - a development that sits somewhere between a screwcap and a very good natural cork..... A ProCork allows faster tannin integration ... and it also retains some of that brighter, fresher fruit. ... We look at it every year and ask ourselves if we are doing the right thing, but we have been under ProCork since 2005 and we are still happy with what we're seeing."
